The President of Ghana has dubbed 2019 the Year of Return to Ghana. Your Escape Route would like to present to you OUR return to the homeland, celebrating our ancestry, learning and appreciating the Ghanaian culture.

Itinerary:

DAY 1. AIRPORT TRANSFER/ARRIVAL (December 26th)
Arrive Accra Airport;meet and assisted by Arthur-FrazierTourism Services (Angela Frazier). Drive to hotel; brief orientation. Overnight Holiday Inn Resort Hotel.

DAY 2. ACCRA CITY TOUR (December 27th)
Morning depart after breakfast for an Accra city tour; visiting the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park; the Arts and Craft center and W.E.B DU Bois centre for Pan African Studies. Enjoy an afternoon lunch at the ocean. Free afternoon to rest; and then drinks, live music and dancing at Yenkodi. Overnight Holiday Inn Resort Hotel. Meals: B/L

DAY 3. ACCRA- Afrochella (December 28th)
The Morning will be spent resting and preparing for Afrochella. The concert is from 12-8 pm; we will what time everyone would like to arrive to the event. Overnight Holiday Inn Resort Hotel. Meals: B

DAY 4. ACCRA- (December 29th)
Early morning departure after breakfast to Wli Waterfalls, the highest in West Africa, raising up to 400meters high. Walk through the evergreen forest to see this beautiful falls (will need swim suits). Have lunch and return to your hotel. Welcome dinner with local family. Overnight African Hill Hotel. Meals: B/D

DAY 5. ASHANTI REGION (December 30th)
Early morning depart after breakfast leave for Kumasi and go on a city city tour of Kumasi visiting the Manhyia Palace of the Ashanti Monarch (King of the Ashanti Kingdom) and the Cultural Centre. Free evening. Overnight Golden Tulip. Meals: B

DAY 6. ASHANTI TOUR (December 31st)
Morning depart after Breakfast to Ashanti Craft villages of Ahwiaa noted for wood carving, Ashanti Stools and fertility dolls. Bonwire noted for the famous Kente Cloth; finally the Adinkra Cloth Village of Ntonso. Have lunch and a free afternoon. In the evening, we will experience Kumasi night life and attend one of Kumasi’s night clubs to celebrate NYE. YOU WILL SHOP ON THIS PART OF THE TOUR! Overnight Golden Tulip. Meals: B/L

DAY 7. CENTRAL TOUR (January 1st)
Depart after breakfast to the Central region. Your first stop is Assin Manso to visit the Slave River (Donkor Nsu), where the slaves were forced to have their last bath on their southern march to the coast for shipment. Libation will be poured for the souls of the departed. Arrive in Cape Coast which used to be the Capital of Ghana before 1877. We will visit Cape Coast Castle built by the British in 1665 and experience the Door of No Return. White-out dinner by the beach (everyone should wear white). Overnight Elmina Beach Resort. Meals: B

Optional- In the evening experience Cape Coast night life; enjoying live music and dancing.

DAY 8. CENTRAL TOUR (January 2nd)
After breakfast, drive to Kakum National Park; An evergreen forest covering about 360km2 with trees reaching about 65 meters. Walk through the forest and learn the medicinal uses of different species of plants. Experience a canopy walkway, one of its kind in Africa. Late afternoon/early evening cooking lesson. Overnight Elmina Beach Resort. Meals: B/D

DAY 9. RETURN TO ACCRA (January 3rd)

After breakfast, depart to Accra stopping in between for lunch. Free Day; pack last minute shopping and relax by the pool until departure to airport. Transport to airport. Meals: B
